Charlottesville Alliance SC offers a comprehensive player development pathway for U3-U23+, boys and girls, men and women. Our pathway will meet players where they are technically, tactically, physically, psychologically/mentally, and emotionally and help them advance at their desired pace. As a parent of a player, you want your son or daughter to be in a nurturing sporting environment that encourages fun, education, and competition and challenges them to elevate overall skill and development. Charlottesville Alliance SC follows U.S. Soccer's three-tiered player development pyramid, labeled by zones, to help youth soccer players reach their goals, dreams, and aspirations: Zone 1 (U3-U12), Zone 2 (U13-U17), and Zone 3 (U18+).
For the critical developmental ages of U3-U8, we offer three (3) Levels or "steps" to actively engage youth in fun and educational soccer activities.

The first step in Charlottesville Alliance SC's player development pathway is an introduction to the game for boys and girls, ages U3-U4. Led by Professionally Licensed Alliance Staff and assisted by volunteer parent assistant coaches, the program is designed to get your child out on the soccer pitch and to become familiar with the feel of the soccer ball. We incorporate games that many young children may already be familiar with, further evolving and developing a player's motor skills, cognitive abilities, and peer relationships. We will challenge them (in a fun way) through imaginative sessions, ask them to make their own decisions, and allow them to progress at their own pace. Within our Soccer Tots program, we incorporate small-group thinking.
Game Format: 1v1 and 2v2

The second step in Charlottesville Alliance SC's player development pathway is an introduction to the game for boys and girls, ages U5-U6. Led by Professionally Licensed Alliance Staff and assisted by volunteer parent coaches, the program is designed to get your child out on the soccer pitch and to become familiar with the feel of the soccer ball. The sessions continue to incorporate many games that young children may already be familiar with. The Soccer Minis program continues to evolve and develop players' fine motor skills, cognitive abilities, and peer relationships. We will challenge them with imaginative sessions, ask them to make their own decisions, and allow them to progress at their own pace. At Soccer Minis, we begin to focus on small-group thinking in spaces. We will encourage exploration and creativity with the soccer ball. Players will begin to refine some of the nuances of each skill, including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and more.

Players will participate in fun, educational, and competitive soccer activities and games that challenge them to solve problems under pressure from defenders. PRESEASON VOLUNTEER COACHES CLINIC
The Charlottesville Alliance SC's Sporting Director and Professionally Licensed Alliance Staff will host a preseason meeting with all volunteer parent coaches to provide valuable insights into the Level 1, 2, and 3 curricula. Following the meeting, the Sporting Director will break into Levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively, and demonstrate how a practice or game day will operate. This will also allow volunteer parent coaches to engage and ask questions, becoming familiar with each program.
POSTSEASON VOLUNTEER COACHES SOCIAL
A wonderful tradition at Charlottesville Alliance SC, the Sporting Director will host a postseason volunteer coach social to celebrate the season's successes. This will also allow volunteer parent coaches to provide valuable feedback for each Level of Charlottesville Alliance SC's comprehensive player development pathway.
