Tryouts for Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Season

Location: Alliance Park
1313 Polo Grounds Road
Charlottesville, VA 22911

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the tryout for on-site check-in. Players should bring an inflated soccer ball, wear shin guards, and filled water bottle. Goalkeepers make sure to bring  GK gloves. 

We will be keeping all players moving and active throughout the tryout to maximize playing time and evaluation from our coaching staff.  Our goal is to assess all players training habits, technical ability, coach-ability, speed of thought and decision making, tactical awareness, positional play, and more. 

Our coaching staff will not provide direct feedback to a player after the tryout session but will offer overall feedback to the tryout group so that they can leave with valuable information to help them improve on their own.

PLAYER NOTIFICATION

• Players will be notified via email or phone call when a decision has been made about their roster status.  At times this notification may be while the tryout process is still ongoing.  Players trying out for Academy Elite - U15 shall receive notification by Friday, May 10th. Players trying out for U16 - U19 shall receive notification by Sunday, May 19th
   
• The Alliance reserves the right to add players to a travel roster at any time.
• Players requiring a decision regarding their status prior to receiving notification should contact the Sporting Director at sbell@charlottesvillealliancesc.org.
• If a player is offered a spot on the roster, the player is expected to confirm their acceptance of this roster spot within 7 days of their letter.  To confirm your roster spot, players should:
• Call or email the coach or administrator to accept the roster spot.
• Register and make deposit with the Charlottesville Alliance Sports Club club online via PlayMetrics.
• If a player has not been contacted about their status by 5 days after the final scheduled tryout session, please contact the Charlottesville Alliance SC Admin who will direct your email to the appropriate Technical Staff.

Note:  the Technical Staff reserves the right to assess players at all tryouts and determine if they are eligible to play up a birth year.  However, all players must tryout in their specific birth year to start.
