The Bridge to Travel Soccer

ADVANCED SOCCER REGISTRATION FOR U8-U10 PLAYERS

The Academy Elite program is "The Bridge to Travel Soccer." The advanced Pre-Travel program is designed to provide the highest quality development program for the area’s most motivated and committed Under-8-Year-Old (U8) and Under-10-Year-Old (U10) soccer players.

It is intended for children who are more seriously focused on soccer and for players (and parents) willing to commit more to prioritizing development above the social aspects of youth soccer. It serves as a “bridge” program for Under-11 Travel.

Academy Elite is a separate program, meaning players may participate in the Academy Elite or the Recreation program but not both.

The program offers several unique benefits:

  • A developmentally-appropriate curriculum with a heavy emphasis on individual technique (skills)
  • Twice-per-week outdoor training in the Fall and Spring seasons
  • Intra-Academy games on Saturday mornings
  • Crossover games vs. other clubs or Jamborees powered by Kwik Goal
  • Exclusive access to  Academy Elite Winter Academy focusing on high repetition fast foot skills (optional; additional fee applies)
  • Players are strongly encouraged to participate for the Fall and Spring seasons as this is a program designed for year-round participation to maximize development
  • Professional Coaching Staff

For players ages U8-U10, we offer proper developmental preparation for travel soccer.

CURRICULM

The curriculum heavily emphasizes individual ball mastery, allowing players to become more comfortable, confident, and creative with their foot skills while nurturing their passion and enjoyment for soccer. Activities and games will follow the best practices of US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, and United Soccer Coaches. Each week of training will feature a theme, which will build off the themes from previous weeks, including:

  • Dribbling for possession (changes of direction, shielding)

  • Dribbling for penetration (attacking moves such as scissors, Matthews, step-overs, etc.)

  • First touch

  • Passing

  • Goalscoring, finishing, and ball-striking

  • Goalkeeping

Each week's theme will be encouraged and emphasized in the Intra-Academy matches on Saturdays to allow players to practice their skills in a game environment.

Format
A pool of players will train and play together throughout the season. Small groups will be formed each week (approximately 12 players per group), who will train together under the direction of one of our U8-U10 Academy coaches. Each group will be organized into two squads (Orange and Navy) to compete against each other on Saturday morning, with both squads managed by The Alliance professional coach for that week. Games will start with a 4v4 and 7v7 format but gradually expand to include new elements like additional players, larger space, the goalkeeper position, and throw-ins.

Groups will likely change every week or two, allowing players to play with and against various players while working with each professional coach in the program. Families will receive notification each week regarding their child’s assignment for that week, along with other updates.

Registration for this program is seasonal. We will offer a Fall and Spring Season.
